Gebze Technical University (GTÜ) will contribute to the production of civil drones with the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) compliant new generation UAV2, UAV3 pilot training within the framework of its cooperation with two drone training schools in England.

Gebze Technical University (GTÜ), two in the UK drone within the framework of its cooperation with the education school European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) compliant new generation UAV2 will contribute to civilian drone production with UAV3 pilot training.

According to the statement made by GTÜ, the University signed a “Technology Transfer, Civil Drone Training and Production Cooperation Agreement” with 2 drone training schools in England on May 1.

This cooperation will make significant contributions to EASA compliant new generation UAV2, UAV3 pilot training and civilian drone production.

The training that will fly drones all over the world digitally, regardless of the weight, will be given in this formation for the first time in the world simultaneously with the UK.

Continuing to work with industry collaborations, increasing the quality for quality education, and producing solutions for the country’s domestic and national steps, GTÜ is rapidly advancing towards its goal of a global university.

The university plans to realize the drone technology know-how and technology transfer under its own roof with 2 companies with which it collaborates in this direction.

While undergraduate and graduate students will have the opportunity and talent to learn about innovative drone technology, they will be both soldiers of technology transfer and entrepreneurial pioneers of drone technology by working in R&D projects.

Candidates with EASA-compliant certification will be authorized to conduct domestic and international flights for commercial business operations.

Turkish students participating in the program will have the opportunity to study in England, and students in England will have the opportunity to study in Turkey.

In addition, GTÜ will form the administrative arrangements of EASA approved UAV2 and UAV3 drone trainings together with the General Directorate of Civil Aviation.

The tripartite cooperation will enable us to work with other R&D institutions, especially universities, to design unmanned aerial vehicles according to the demands of both existing and new industrial sectors.
