iOS 14 was first released in September 2020, before the iPhone 12 was released. Since that time AppleMobile operating system released once a month with new features and bug fixes. The latest version – iOS 14.4 – was released on January 26th.

When is the iOS 14.5 release date?

Apple does not publicly reveal when it will release a new version of iOS, but we can follow some tips. We can expect to see the final version of iOS 14.5 in late February, or possibly March, as the developer beta for iOS 14.5 was released on February 1 and the public beta soon became available, and versions are released approximately once a month.

How do I download iOS 14.5 public beta?

If you want to download the iOS 14.5 public beta and try out some new features (again, we recommend doing this on a device you don’t usually use as bugs can occur), you need to sign in first. Ready for Apple’s Beta Software Program. To do this, go to and click Sign Up. You must enter your Apple ID and password and agree to the terms and conditions. Once you are part of the program, you can go to Settings> Software Update and click Download and Install when you see iOS 14.5 Public Beta.

How can I download iOS 14.5 when it is publicly available for download?

When it is released, you should get an alert that iOS 14.5 is now available and asks if you would like to download it. or you can do the following:

1. Open the Settings app.

2. Select General.

3. Tap Software Update.

Your device will connect to Apple’s servers and prompt you to download and install the update. Follow the instructions to complete the setup. When your device restarts, it will be running iOS 14.5.

Which devices are compatible with iOS 14.5?

iOS 14.5 will be compatible with the same devices as iOS 14. Generally, these include iPhone 6S (up to iPhone 12), iPhone SE and iPod Touch (seventh generation).

What new features will iOS 14.5 include?

The latest version of iOS will bring several useful new features, including:

Use Face ID on your Apple Watch to unlock your iPhone – even while wearing a mask

Apple Watch owners will be able to activate a feature that allows you to use Face ID to unlock your iPhone while your watch is on and unlocked, even if your face is covered by a mask. The watch will provide haptic feedback informing you that your iPhone is unlocked.

Apple Music may no longer need to be your default music player. Instead, it lists all the music streaming services you have installed on your device when you ask Siri to play something for the first time. Choose the one you want to set as your default player, like Spotify. The update was first discovered by Reddit users while tampering with beta versions of iOS 14.5, and was reported by MacRumors on Monday.

Over 200 new emojis

iOS 14.5 will include 217 new emojis, including new skin tone variations for popular emojis like kissing couples. You will also find new emojis like burning heart, exhaling faces, faces in clouds, and spiral-eyed faces. Changes have also been made to the syringe emoji, with blood drawn to make the vaccines more suitable for depiction.

Do Fitness Plus workouts with AirPlay

iOS 14.5 and WatchOS 7.4 will allow Apple Fitness Plus users to stream their workouts directly to AirPlay 2 compatible TVs and devices.

Application monitoring transparency

iOS 14.5 includes privacy changes that require apps to request user permission before monitoring data and activity. This is based on a change released in iOS 14.3 and allows you to see what data apps are collecting before hitting the download.

Dual SIM 5G global support

iPhone 12 users will soon have dual SIM support globally, which means you can take advantage of the phone’s physical SIM slot and digital eSIM to have two lines of service on the same phone. This support was previously only available in mainland China.

Siri updates

Siri will soon be able to call 911 for you and say “Hey, Siri, call emergency.” You will see a three-second countdown giving you the option to cancel the request.

Console controller support

With the update, Apple adds iOS and iPadOS support for PS5 and Xbox Series X controllers, so you can play games on your phone or tablet.
