Microsoft Excel has officially announced several new features for its Web version on its page. Specifically, this update provides users with easier worksheet navigation, support for multiple range selection, version history support, and more.
According to Microsoft’s statement on the subject; “Delighting our customers with faster, smoother, and richer experiences in Excel for the web is an uncompromising goal for our Excel team. We recently had to make opening workbooks, navigating a workbook, and other interactions faster and smoother for you. we made performance improvement. ” The company also claims it will release more features for Excel in the future.
Details of Microsoft Excel New Features
Here are the details of the new features;
Easier worksheet navigation: When opening an Excel workbook with multiple worksheets, you can now jump directly to the worksheet you want. Just click the new All Sheets button in the lower left corner and then select your worksheet.
Multiple range selection: You can now select multiple ranges that are not adjacent to each other and fill in the color or copy and paste. Hold down the Ctrl key while selecting as many ranges as you want. The example below shows how you can select two non-adjacent columns and apply conditional formatting.
Zoom in / out: Excel for the web now supports multiple ways to zoom in / out. Zoom in to see your data up close or zoom out for an overview of your worksheet:
Pinch / stretch to zoom the touch screen or trackpad
Ctrl + mouse wheel
Ctrl Alt +/- key
Click the +/- button
Choose a predefined zoom level from 25% to 200% in the lower right corner.
Excel keyboard shortcuts by default: Excel for the web now supports your keyboard shortcuts (Alt, Ctrl-1, Ctrl-Shift-A, etc.) by default. To see the list of Excel keyboard shortcuts, click the Help tab and choose Keyboard Shortcuts – Override browser shortcuts is checked by default.
Version history: You can now view and restore previous versions of your Excel file using version history. Track the activities in the workbook of other collaborators and, if necessary, switch to Select File> Info> Version History.
Regional settings: You can now change the region settings in Excel for the web to set your date / time, number, and currency formats in several ways:
Choose File> Options> Regional Format Settings, or
Select the Number Format drop-down list> More Number Formats….
