The work initiated by the Kingdom Archeology Center (AAKSAU) and the Royal Research Commission in Saudi Arabia is documenting an unprecedented and magnificent history.

Historical stones, which have been quietly examined for years in Saudi Arabia, were also examined from the air by scientists thanks to the developing technology.

What’s under the surprising mustatil?

They call these stone structures older than Stone Henge and the pyramids in Egypt mustatil. The word mustatil in Arabic means rectangle. Scientists studying more than a thousand mustatili in the north-west of the country say some are small, others hundreds of meters long, but because they do not exceed a meter high, some parts are buried under the sand.

WHO KNOWS WHAT WILL HAPPEN?

It is estimated that these stone structures in which cattle horns were placed were most likely used in religious ceremonies. These structures, which were added to the list of the oldest stone monuments encountered today, took their place not only as the oldest but also as the largest ceremonial area in the history of the world. Who knows what more evidence will emerge from under these stones, about what happened in those times on our rapidly eroding planet.
